More than 320 swimmers took part in the ninth annual Carly's Crossing on Sunday, August 14, 2011, raising more than $115,000 for pediatric research and patient support programs through Carly's Club at RPCI.

Swimmers chose from a 1-mile or 600-yard course, setting off from Gallagher Beach on Buffalo's waterfront. After the swim, participants, volunteers and their supporters enjoyed an on-land party featuring kid-friendly games, activities, food and live music from Leon and the Forklifts and the Humphrey Road Band. The Yroswell Street Team brought Yroswell Mad Gab and Plinko and played with eventgoers of all ages.

Carly's Crossing, presented by Creditors Interchange, was established in 2002 in honor of Carly Collard Cottone, who founded Carly's Club to benefit her fellow patients during her own cancer battle. Since its inception, Carly's Crossing has raised more than $700,000.
